Life changes

Hello there, it's been a while since I actually wrote out a blog post.  Not just interior design photos or a quick little something to go along with an edesign. So here goes, I woke up a couple months ago and decided that I wanted to make some changes in my life.  Make a better life for my family and I.  I think it might have something to do with the fact that Joe and I are going to be thirty in July and for some reason I felt like we weren't making the most of our time.  I haven't done a recent goals chart or anything like that for us because lately my mind has been too foggy to set clear goals for our future...  We put our house on the market and the holidays just ended and then my Papa passed.  I am a creature of habit and when things change it takes me a minute to get my footing.

So for now my goals are more present than future.  I want to make everything around me comfortable, clean, organized and beautiful.  I want to hold myself to a higher standard and better myself.  I want to be a better wife and mother and a better more present daughter, granddaughter and sister.

I have started to read more lately and I found this amazing book called Lessons from Madame Chic.  It's a book on the art of living and it's just a great read.  I have also started following the author Jennifer L. Scott's you tube channel as a fun extra.   I love her take on living well and living like a lady.  Check her out she is pretty inspirational.

XO,

Jen

Jax Bedroom Refresh

I have seen so many cute modern kids spaces on pinterest lately and it inspired me to make some changes to Jax's bedroom. Here is the board I created for him. I seriously love that garland and the hedgehog pillow!

Blue Family Room

I just saw this pretty blue chest from pier1 on 6thstreetdesignschool blog and I had to do a room design around it, so pretty!

Light and functional entry

Our house has a pretty small entry so I want to keep things really light but add a little pretty and some functionality. Right now our shoes have no where to go and they end up getting kicked around everywhere so I am loving the idea of this IKEA shoe cabinet I just want to switch out the knobs to something a little prettier. I just purchased the allen and roth light fixture from lowes and I absolutely love it! I know there are probably some rules about mixing metals but I think this works. Here is what I came up with.
